Cookie notice
Short, because there is very little to declare. This website sets no cookies of its own, and there is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to.
1. The position
tech52.org is a set of static pages. It stores nothing on your device: no cookies, no local storage, no session storage, no device fingerprinting. It runs no analytics product, no tag manager, no advertising or remarketing pixels, no heat-mapping or session recording, no chat widget and no social media embeds.
The only JavaScript on the site is a small file of our own that opens the mobile menu, expands the FAQ answers, fades sections in as you scroll and writes the current year into the footer. It sends nothing anywhere, and every page works without it.
2. Third-party requests the site does make
One, and we would rather name it than leave you to find it in a network tab. The
pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser requests
files from fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com.
Google states that the Fonts service does not set cookies, but the request itself
necessarily discloses your IP address, the page requesting the font and basic
browser information, and Google is an independent controller of that data.
If you would rather avoid it, a content blocker will stop the request and the site will fall back to the fonts already on your device; the layout is designed to survive that.
3. Server logs
Like any website, tech52.org is served by a web host that keeps standard access logs — IP address, timestamp, the page requested, the response code and the user agent string. These are used for security and troubleshooting, are not combined into a profile of you, and are kept for the short period set by the provider. They are records held by the server rather than anything stored on your device.
4. Controlling cookies generally
Nothing here needs to be blocked, but you can control cookies for every site from your browser's settings — Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari all let you block third-party cookies, clear existing ones, or refuse them entirely. Guidance for the browser you use is published by its maker, and the ICO's public guidance on cookies explains your rights.
5. Portals we build for other people
This notice covers tech52.org only. A portal we build for a client is that client's website, published under their own cookie and privacy notices. When we build one, part of the job is making sure any non-essential cookies — analytics and advertising included — are set only after the visitor has given consent, and that refusing is as easy as accepting. We hold our clients' sites to the standard described in the ICO's guidance on cookies and similar technologies.
6. If this ever changes
If we add analytics or any other technology that stores or reads information on your device, we will update this notice and the privacy notice before doing so, and we will add a proper consent mechanism where the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations require one — one that asks before it acts, not after.
